iFi Audio GO cable – Hi-Res DAC Amp in a Cable

The GO cable moves the DAC and headphone amplifier out of the dongle and hides them inside the cable itself. USB-C goes into your phone, tablet, laptop or handheld console at one end, and a pair of 0.78 mm 2-pin plugs clips onto your own in-ear monitors at the other, so nothing extra rides in your pocket. At Soundium it sits at the entry point of the iFi GO family, alongside the GO blu and GO Bar, for listeners who want a proper hi-res signal path without carrying one.

Key Features

  • DAC and amp inside the cable: the hi-res audio system lives in the inline housing, built on the same architecture as the GO link
  • ESS Sabre DAC chipset: bit-perfect DSD and DXD decoding, PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD256
  • Dynamic Range Enhancement and THD compensation: both unlocked on the DAC chip for wider contrast between quiet and loud passages and lower distortion
  • Direct 2-pin connection: 0.78 mm 2-pin L/R male plugs fit standard detachable in-ear monitors
  • In-line controls and microphone: volume, play, pause and skip, plus an echo-cancelling mic for calls and voice chat
  • Console ready: works with the Nintendo Switch 2, including GameChat
  • Silver-plated conductors: OFHC copper with pure silver plating, housed in a water-resistant chassis
  • Low output impedance: under 1 Ω, so sensitive multi-driver IEMs keep their intended frequency response

Customer Benefits

A phone headphone output is a compromise, and a separate dongle is one more thing to lose. The GO cable removes both problems at once: you keep the IEMs you already own, swap the stock cable for this one, and the signal never touches your device analogue stage. At 16 g it adds almost nothing to the weight of the cable it replaces, and the inline buttons mean your phone can stay in your pocket on the tram or in a queue.

Use Cases / Ideal For

Commuters and travellers who already own 2-pin IEMs and want one cable instead of a cable plus a dongle. Handheld gamers on the Switch 2 who need GameChat with a mic that works. Desk listeners who want a clean USB-C path from a laptop to sensitive in-ears without a desktop amp.

Compatibility

Any in-ear monitor with standard 0.78 mm 2-pin sockets, connected to a USB-C source: Android phones, iPhones with USB-C, iPads, Windows and macOS laptops, and the Nintendo Switch 2. The supplied adapter covers USB-A sources. IEMs with MMCX or proprietary connectors are not compatible.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

  • Removes the dongle entirely, so there is one less item to carry and lose
  • Full ESS Sabre hi-res decoding with DRE and THD compensation at an entry-level price
  • Output impedance under 1 Ω suits sensitive multi-driver IEMs
  • Inline mic and transport controls make it usable for calls and gaming, not just playback

⚠️ Cons:

  • Only fits 0.78 mm 2-pin IEMs, so MMCX owners are out
  • 14 mW into 300 Ω means it is built for in-ears, not for full-size high-impedance headphones
  • The DAC is tied to this one cable rather than shared across all your headphones

The GO cable is the smallest way iFi has found to put a real DAC and headphone amp between your source and your in-ears. If you already have a favourite pair of 2-pin IEMs and want them to sound like they should from a phone or a laptop, you will find it at Soundium alongside the rest of the iFi GO range.
